A NOTE ON SAFETY

Please be aware that because COVID remains a threat, we at MVBT are abiding by the safety protocols issued by experts in our Sangha. Your safety and the safety of our volunteers is of paramount importance, so PLEASE work with us to make your Obon at Home pick-up experience SAFE and enjoyable.

  • Your pick-up time is ONLY for items that you have pre-ordered.
  • Follow all instructions.
  • If you have not been vaccinated, wear a mask over your nose and mouth at all times that you are on the temple grounds.
  • Drive SLOWLY and carefully. Please follow signs and flow of traffic.

SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED

  • Remain in your vehicle at all times.  
  • Waving and SMILES are ENCOURAGED.

Pickup Times

  1. Please check your email for a message with the subject line MVBT OBON at HOME 2021 Order Pick-Up Information. You will be assigned a 15-minute time slot. That is your pick-up time. PLEASE do not arrive early or late.
  2. If you have designated a family member or MVBT member friend to pick up your order for you, you should have submitted their name, email address, and mobile number before Monday, July 5.
  3. Sometimes things happen. IF you will be unable to arrive during your pick-up time slot, please contact us at obon@mvbuddhisttemple.org by NOON on Friday, July 16, to make alternative arrangements.

For Drivers

This is the required flow of traffic for onsite pickups.  Please follow the flow of traffic and the directions below to help us maintain the safety and efficiency of this process.

Station #1 is where you will be picking up your food items.

Station #2 is for add-on items (Kids Pack, Bingo Booster Pack, T-Shirts, Aprons, Cookbooks, Grab Bags)

Step 1: Entry

  • Enter at the Stierlin Rd. entrance closest to Sangha Hall.

Step 2: Check - In

  • Let the greeter know the name(s) associated with the orders you are picking up.
  • The greeter will tape one information sheet on your windshield for each order that you are picking up.
  • You will be asked to release your trunk or hatch so the greeter can open the back of your car where your order will be placed by volunteers.
  • If you are NOT picking up food items, the greeter will instruct you to skip Step 3 and proceed to Step 4.

Step 3: Pick Up Food

  • Follow the signs to the back of Sangha Hall. 
  • Stop at Station 1 where your food order will be loaded by a volunteer.
  • If you are only picking up food, then a volunteer will close your car trunk. Please follow the signs to exit onto Shoreline Blvd.
    • If you have more to pick up, please leave your trunk open.

Step 4: Pick Up Non-Food Items

  • Follow the signs to the front of the Hondo.
  • Stop at Station 2 where your non-food purchases will be loaded into your car by a volunteer.
    • The volunteer will close your car trunk. 
    • Please follow the signs to exit onto Shoreline Blvd.

Step 5: Exit

  • Exit at the Shoreline Blvd entrance closest to the minister’s residence.

Problems?

  • Pull into an area marked PROBLEM and a volunteer will help you.

While you are on temple grounds

 

  • Please REMAIN in your car at all times.
  • If you have not been vaccinated, wear a MASK over your nose and mouth.
  • Follow all volunteer instructions.
